Choosing Your Boat Lift Canopy Fabric
Fabric FAQs
Which fabric option is the lightest?
Hydrofend is our lightest fabric option, weighing just 8 oz. It's made from solution-dyed polyester, offering excellent durability while remaining lightweight. If you're looking for a canopy that's easy to install, remove, and handle, Hydrofend is the perfect choice.
Which fabric is best for harsh winters?
If your boat lift is exposed to heavy snow, strong winds, or severe weather, RecWater is our best recommendation. Its heavyweight 19 oz construction and waterproof PVC backing provide outstanding protection in demanding environments.
Which fabric is the most waterproof?
Shelter-Rite STL13, Shelter-Rite SR18, and RecWater are fully waterproof. Both Shelter-Rite fabrics use heat-welded seams instead of stitched seams to eliminate needle holes, while RecWater features a waterproof PVC backing. Harbor-Time is highly water-repellent, and Hydrofend offers excellent water resistance with its protective backing.
What is the difference between Shelter-Rite STL13 and SR18?
Both fabrics offer excellent waterproofing, UV protection, and durability. STL13 is lighter and easier to handle, while SR18 features thicker PVC coatings for maximum strength and long-term durability.
